Fallen Star Resort Rises from
the Destruction of Hurricane Ivan
West End, Negril, Westmoreland,
Jamaica W.I.
In
September of 2004 Hurricane Ivan
ripped by the western tip of Jamaica
and Negril causing vast destruction
to the West End Cliffs of Negril.
Many of the cliffside properties
received major hurricane damage.
Catcha Fallen Star was one of
those West End properties that
received the furry of Ivan's monster
waves and winds virtually destroying
a large part of their ocean cliffs
and resort buildings. Out of the
rubble left behind from Ivan a
new Catcha Fallen Star Resort
has risen.
As a photographer, right after
Ivan passed, I had the opportunity
to boat along the Negril coastline
and photograph the destruction.

today. The risen Catcha Fallen
Star has definitely recovered
from the devastation of Ivan.
Catcha Fallen Star's rebuilt oceanfront
cliffs and resort buildings, countless
flowers and plants, and new Ivan's
Bar [built around the remains
of an old tree ripped apart by
Ivan's furry] is today a perfect
place for a wedding, or to enjoy
a very relaxing and scenic vacation
on Negril's West End.

Note:
We checked into
Catcha Fallen Star Resort late
afternoon and left around noontime
the next day. During that period
of time I had the pleasure to
see Catcha Fallen Star through
my eye. I photographed from late
afternoon through the evening
taken many photos under various
lighting. The next morning found
me outside around 4:45 AM enjoying
the early morning sunrise with
a pleasant greeting from the security
guard and I continued photography
until we left the resort. I personally
was amazed at the new Catcha Fallen
Star and its recovery from Ivan
as I am sure you will be when
you view the photos linked below.
